1950 - 1960

The origin: Café Restaurant Kunz. At that time, large parts of today's restaurant were a forecourt with access to a small REWE store. Even the hotel buildings known today did not yet exist. But all beginnings are small and growth followed - based on success - in rapid succession.  

1960 - 1970

The major conversion and expansion into a hotel operation paves the way for further growth and the expansion of the range and quality of the Hotel-Restaurant Kunz. In this decade the first complex of the hotel building was created by converting the small house into a modern flat roof complex. As the number of guests increased, so did the professionalism, range and size of the kitchen. Kunz quickly established itself as the gourmet temple of the region.

1970 - 1980

In this decade the Kunz family laid the foundation for the nationally leading hotel business and impressive growth. The concept of an exclusive restaurant and luxury & comfort for overnight stays is well received and the number of guests increases continuously so that a further expansion is decided.

1980 - 1990

The experience gastronomy with wellness, barbecue table & fine dining is moved into the Hotel Restaurant Kunz. As leading restaurateurs, the Kunz family has a good feel for trends in the industry on the one hand and the preferences of the customers on the other. Gradually, the next generation of the family takes over the helm.

1990 - 2000

Awarded as a leading figure in the industry, Kunz has become an indispensable part of the industry. In the coming years, the Kunz family will be able to maintain its position and continually extend its lead over the competition in terms of quality, customer satisfaction and product range. And to ensure that this remains so, further modernization measures will of course be carried out, from the terrace to the rooms & suites to the wellness area. 

2000 - 2010

The expansion of the restaurant, hotel & wellness offer is carried out as preparation for the coming evolution. More and more guests make a pilgrimage to the temple of pleasure in the Palatinate and support the Kunz family in their plans. Great ideas, their design and the planning of their implementation determine this decade in preparation for the next stage of the Hotel Restaurant Kunz.  

TODAY

The confidence of the customers in the Hotel Restaurant Kunz and the lasting success lead to the creation of a new era of the business. A world-class bar, 300 square meters of wellness & spa, an internationally acclaimed restaurant, highly professional cuisine, a remarkable vinotheque in the vaulted cellar and a progressive extension: evolution has been successfully completed and makes Kunz ready for decades to come, with roots that are still deeply rooted in the tradition and history of the hotel.
